Wide Open Ag. to supply plant-based concentrate to Monde Nissin Australia and oat milk to Taiwan.

Wide Open Agriculture (“WOA”) has signed a Supply Agreement with Monde Nissin Australia (“MNA”), a leading distributer for the independent retail market in Australia, to supply plant-based concentrate made from lupin seeds. This product, branded Buntine Protein by WOA, can be used as a main ingredient to replace animal-based ingredients in food and drinks.

It has the potential to create plant-based meat, dairy, baked-goods, noodles, and protein supplements.

MNA intend to use Buntine Protein as a key ingredient for new product development. Given their strong market position, this provides the pathway for the commercialisation. Successful test of new products by MNA is the key to WOA’s plans to build a large-scale commercial plant to supply higher volume requirements.

WOA has also announced an oat milk distribution agreement with DKSH Taiwan to distribute, market, and sell WOA’s Dirty Clean Food Oat Milk products in Taiwan. DKSH is a global marketing, distribution, and logistics company with operations in 36 markets and revenue of US$11bn in 2021. The deal includes the recently launched chocolate and coffee flavoured oat milks.

to develop the market for regenerative lupin products.

In addition to the environmental benefits from reducing animal-based diets, the exciting aspect of these agreements is their potential to contribute to the scaling of regenerative farming in Australia. WOA’s Dirty Clean Food Oat Milk is the world’s first oat milk that is carbon neutral and produced with regeneratively farmed oats and the lupin seeds are also sourced using farms using regenerative farming practices.

Ben Cole, the Managing Director of WOA, said, “WOA is excited to be working with MNA who share our passion to develop the market for regenerative lupin products. This agreement has the potential to catalyse farmers to grow more regenerative lupins and offer consumers a range of innovative products to utilise Buntine Protein with its exceptional nutritional benefits”.
