David Macri joins NorthStar Impact Funds as an Executive Director
David Macri, ex Chief Investment Officer of Australian Ethical Investment, has joined NorthStar Impact Funds as an Executive Director following strong growth in the business over the past 2 years, which included NorthStar’s appointment as an external equities manager by Unisuper. With more than 26 years’ experience in the investment industry, David brings a wealth of knowledge in equities research, portfolio management and strategic planning, particularly within Responsible Investment.
David’s career highlights include 14 years at Australian Ethical Investment, where he served as Chief Investment Officer for more than a decade. David said, “The impact investment philosophy of NorthStar resonates strongly with me. Listed equities provide good opportunities for investors that want to achieve positive social and environmental outcomes alongside financial returns. I believe that NorthStar has a best in class offering in listed equities impact investing and I’m keen to contribute to scaling the business.”
“I’m very excited to be joining the NorthStar team and am looking forward to contributing to the growth of impact investing in general. I am particularly pleased to be working in the small and micro-cap sector again, to help manage and research existing investments, and to discover new impact and alpha generating opportunities.”
Kerry Series, Chief Investment Officer and Founder of NorthStar Impact Funds, welcomed David to the team.
“David’s expertise in ethical investing and his strong track record of managing high-performing portfolios are an excellent fit for NorthStar’s mission. His extensive experience and insights underscore his deep understanding of combining financial returns with a strong responsible investing framework. We’re extremely happy to have him on board and know that he’ll be able to help us grow and to continue to deliver strong investment returns and real world impact”.
